Is it really free?
Yes. Every widget is free for personal and commercial sites, with no advertising and no tracking cookies from us.
Do I have to keep the credit link?
No — attribution is optional. We would appreciate it if you keep it, because it is how people find their way back to the tax-year updates, but the widget works either way.
Do I need to update it when UK tax rates change?
No. The calculator runs on our servers, so it follows the current tax year automatically. There is nothing for you to maintain.
Does it slow my site down?
No. The widget is a single lazy-loaded iframe, so it does not block your page. Nothing is loaded until a visitor scrolls to it.
Can I change the width or colours?
Width adapts to its container, so set the width on your own wrapper. Set the iframe height to fit the number of fields (420 px suits most).
Where do the figures come from?
HMRC and gov.uk rates for the current tax year. They are estimates for guidance only, and every widget links back to the full calculator with the assumptions shown.
